Our Purpose:  To provide an inclusive, individualized environment that enhances the social emotional development of all participants, fosters the ability to make connections, provides meaningful interactions, and learning experiences that will prepare children and families to be self-sufficient and school ready.

Our Philosophy:  Passionate, dedicated staff working in collaboration with families and communities to move lives forward.

Head Start

STEPS provides early childhood education services to Preschool age children 3-5 in Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward Counties.

EaRly
Head Start

STEPS Early Head Start Program provides early childhood education services to infants and toddlers, ages 6 weeks - 36 months.  Services are provided in Amelia, Charlotte, Lunenburg and Prince Edward Counties.

Expectant Mothers

STEPS Expectant Mothers Program serves pregnant women.  The program offers a research based curriculum that helps mom and families prepare for baby. Staff assist mom with all aspects of prenatal care.  The program includes support groups, CPR/First Aid training, hospital visit, breastfeeding and postpartum supports,

Little Movers

Now Available in Farmville!

STEPS offers preschool and childcare services to families who do not quality for Head Start or Early Head Start Services.

Families will receive the same comprehensive services in any of our classrooms.  Our Little Movers will be in an inclusive classroom environment.  Staff will assist parents to maximize funding supports.
