Food Service
STEPS participates in the Child Adult Care Food Program administered by the VDH through the USDA. This program ensures all children receive developmentally appropriate food, served in the proper portion sizes to maintain each child's health and promote a positive relationship with food. Meals will be served family style, which encourages and teaches children independence. Staff will sit with children during meals and children are not allowed to eat or drink while walking around.
The attached menus will be used for all children under the age of 1.
STEPS serves breakfast, lunch, and snack daily to all enrolled children. No outside food is allowed. STEPS will adhere to the Office of Head Start regulations that all meals & snacks will be low sodium, low fat, and low sugar.
These snack menus are for Appomattox, Buckingham, and Nottoway County.
